– Shipper only pays for portion of trailer used
Rates for LTL Freight are determined by freight class, weight, pick up and destination zip codes (in the transportation industry this is commonly referred to as the “lane”), and any additional services required to meet the shipper’s and consignee’s needs.
AA Logistics is able to secure discounts and class through our carrier partnersspecifically for you, our customer, based on usage
Carriers offer shippers and brokers discounts for freight that they are wanting to secure for business. The discount negotiated with the carrier and FAK’s (freight of all kinds) may be offered to lessen the perceived cost of shipments in addition to the discounted rates. For example, when a shipper wants to move their product which is class 85 and they’re negotiating their rate with the carrier, the LTL carrier can offer to move their product at a lower class such as class 50 which would decrease the perceived cost.
